SUMIT TONGIA, the Chief Executive Officer and founder of CONFIANCE is an Outstanding core Banking management professional with extensive experience of 25 years & strong financial acumen in successfully managing multiple consumer banking businesses specializing wealth management to high-net-worth individuals across various segments including Core Banking, Retail Sales Distribution and Private Wealth & Loans. He was catalyst in driving Service Excellence & Operations while adhering to regulatory Risk & Compliance guidelines. Focusing Business Development & Distribution Management with highly motivated teams of very large size. As well as having the ability to aim high, think smart and act fast. To drive and lead any team for any special goal or role.
He served as a vice president in IndusInd bank, Mumbai (India) handling investment and loan book totaling to 3000 crores with a big team along. Prior to that, he was Cluster head of Prabhadevi area in ICICI Bank (South Mumbai) handling NRI, Trade Loan & Home Loan, FOREX & Wealth Portfolio along with Life and Medical Insurance with book size of 3200 crore for HNI client and Corporates. He has also worked as a Regional head for Standard Chartered bank, for 11 years handling various roles in banking with Loans, wealth management at Branch banking, starting as City head – Indore. Prior to this role was MP head for IDBI BANK -Government business. Prior to this stint was with HDFC BANK at Bhopal. He began his career with Kotak Mahindra Primus Limited in 1996 (now Kotak Bank) in Loans. Over all he is a hardcore Banker who has had an extremely successful career and performance with excellent Customer satisfaction ratings.
He was awarded as the Best Manager India in IndusInd bank by the then Managing director Mr. Ramesh Sobti. Also was awarded as Best Manager Globe in Standard Chartered bank by Group CEO Peter Sands in ceremony at JEZU ISLAND (South Korea).
Sumit originally hails from a business family with interest in Cloth and jewellery in Indore. An MBA with a major in Marketing and minor in Finance and an MCOM. (taxation) Gold medalist. He is married to a daughter of a senior IAS, She is M.A. (Eng. Lit.), PGDM, B. Ed. and has a daughter who is currently pursuing a B. Tech degree from Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune.
